The holidays are a time of reflection and hope. As we reflect upon this year, we can’t help but take a moment to say thank you for your support in furthering our mission, creating a place where children can recognize each other as individuals, not by their disabilities.
We see the impact of our community’s generous support through the smiles on our campers’ faces as well as the continual strides they make towards achieving their individualized goals. Often, the immeasurable effect our camp has is realized through stories, letters or drawings from campers and their parents. As a partner in our mission, we would love for you to hear a few:
“I am grateful for the camp experience you’ve provided my non-verbal, non-mobile son. My son had a typical, regular and utterly FANTASTIC time at camp Dream Oaks Camp!!! What a blessing are those that work tirelessly at providing services for kids with special needs; sleeping in a bunk bed instead of a hospital bed; those that give without rest, their summers and their muscle and their love to kids like mine.”
“While my daughter was at camp, we were able to go out and celebrate a birthday. I even took a much-needed nap- haven’t done that in years! I got to spend uninterrupted quality time with my other children that are usually trumped by what my daughter wants or needs at that moment. I feel like I got to know my other children better in one short week than I have in months.”
Stories like these reveal the power your financial support has on the lives of campers and their families. This holiday season, we encourage you to make a difference in the life of a child.
Over 90% of families that come to us need financial assistance to send their child to camp, producing an ever-present need for financial support and sponsorship.
We ask you to give a child the chance to discover a place they can call their own, a place where their strengths can flourish, a place where their story can thrive.
Today, give a child the gift of camp!
Thank you for your continued support. May you and yours have a wonderful holiday season!
